How To Make Your Mum Smile This Mothers Day
Today’s blog is dedicated to women buying gifts for their mums or the very savvy male who want to say thanks to mum this Mothers Day.
As a mother, I always think: What would I love to receive for Mothers Day?
Now ask yourself: What gives me a thrill? What do I love most or need most?
Personally, I love nothing more than receiving clothes. Although having four sons has made this somewhat unlikely.
If you are taking the leap (credit to you) and purchasing clothes for your mum, make sure it’s to her taste and suits her colouring. Think about her and what she might wear rather than what you think she might look good in. Maybe you would like to pick an entire outfit, I have listed 3 options below! Ps. Note that most of these photos are raw and on the run!!!! 🙂
Also consider your mum’s attributes and hobbies. Is she traditional, modern, sporty or perhaps elegant? This will again help you hone in on appropriate gifts.
So here is a list of great ideas:
• Perfume – all the best gift packs are released for Mothers Day and if you can’t decide, opt for a classic. I imagine no mum would be disappointed to receive a bottle of Chanel No 5.
• Cardigan/Knit – just in time for winter and great for layering. Purposeful, stylish and practical – she’ll love it.
• Scarf – you can opt for a light, decorative scarf or something more voluminous and warm, consider what your mum might usually wear..
• Necklace – This can be an investment piece from a luxury jeweler or something for every day from Louvisa, Mimco, Witchery etc.
• Shop with a stylist 🙂 🙂 – We would love to work with your mum and we have gift vouchers available! ( BEST idea I think! 🙂 )
• Style Workshop – A small intimate group environment of women seeking to rediscover their style, empowering and a downright fun day spent with me.
• Jacket – Again, a purposeful gift which you can buy in the form of a blazer or thicker winter jacket. Opt for something classic or a little on-trend without being too ambitious. Check mum’s wardrobe for any prints or patterns she regularly wears.
• Handbag – There’s nothing like a large tote or timeless handbag that mum would love. Perhaps buy her something for work, so consider if it needs to be more corporate or casual.
• Peter Alexander Pyjamas – Mr. Alexander never disappoints. There are designs for the funky mum, the elegant mum or the effortlessly simple mum.
• A Relaxing Gift – Many mums are stressed and run down so perhaps opt for a massage or spa voucher. Go the extra mile and book it in for her taking care of any responsibilities she may have that day.
I hope this is a great start as you embark on your Mothers Day gift shopping and in all cases, try and personalise the gift as much as possible.
Above all, Mothers Day is really about spending time together and there’s nothing I love more than spending the day with my boys.
And if you’re really stuck, a bunch of bright flowers and your presence (pun intended) would also suffice.
Happy Mothers Day to all the fabulous mothers out there! Wishing you a relaxing and brilliant day!
