2015 VAMFF to Everyday
Today’s blog is NOT JUST for our fashion runway lovers.
No, we’re not talking New York, Paris or Milan, but Melbourne.
In March, Melbourne comes to fashion life for one week to present VAMFF (Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival).
We know we have some VAMFF followers and also plenty of people who like to see the fashion forward looks and the latest collections.
However, year in year out, so many people live vicariously through their internet connection to get fashion updates on the festival instead of attending the events themselves.
Why? Namely, because of something I call fashion fear.
It seems that many people are reluctant to attend due to feeling intimidating, worrying of underdressing or dealing with the conundrum that most ladies deal with every day – what on earth would I wear?!
Now, fashion is my job and my passion and when attending this festival, it’s a requirement that I dress up and look the part.
Yes, I won’t lie, I am on my toes at these events due to the fact that the many women who attend are from the stores themselves. They’re wearing some of the most amazing looks. You also might cross paths with some celebrities – Andie McDowell or Eva Longoria in years past.
And for some reason, all the tall, slender model-worthy Melburnians all seem to be in the one room at the one time.
However, it is only daunting if you let it be.
The fashion industry has never been so welcoming. Head-to-toe trends are no longer celebrated, uniqueness is very in and amongst the crowd you’ll see a mix of ages, body-shapes and styles.
I attend because I love the fashion industry … and because I want to see all the pretty looks I’ll be dressing all my clients in next month.
(God, I love my job!)
So today, forget the overwhelm as I’ve kindly sourced some VAMFF friendly looks that might inspire you to attend.
You can see the full event schedule here where you will also see amongst the fashion runways, beauty events and business seminars.
Who knew fashion could be so versatile?! 🙂
So is anyone already going or planning to go? Let me know in the comments below and I hope to see you at VAMFF.

Thanks so much for this blog, as it was very timely. My sister, Louise and I, love fashion and have started attending Fashion Festivals (in Sydney last year). It’s great to see the latest fashion trends up close. We are visiting Melbourne (from Sydney and Bowral, NSW) for a few days next week for my special 60th birthday! We will be attending the VAMFF – Premium Runway 6 event on Wednesday, 18th March at 9.30 pm. We will keep a lookout for you and Lacey! Melbourne is a favourite destination of ours for all the great fashion stores and restaurants; and for me the Australian Tennis Open in January.
