Merry Christmas & New Year Party Outfits to Impress
My Christmas message to you all this year is steeped in sadness.
As you may be aware I lost my mum on the 29th of November, finding out a few hours before I began a 5-day stylist course.
My mother was my style icon growing up, putting herself first every morning and ensuring her appearance was spot on.
My Mum was also very tough on me, not easily pleased and not one to throw me compliments.
It’s interesting how our mothers shape us into the women we become.
We avoid like the plague the things we dislike about who they are and we absolutely follow to a T the things we love and admire about them.
I have been a devoted, loving daughter my whole life, looking desperately for praise and appreciation from her.
Her love for me was unconditional.
This Christmas we all celebrate a year of joys and losses.
I am going to celebrate family.
Who I have with me and who I don’t.
Love is a word to easily flung around, but love for each other, support of us all as individuals who go through losses and experience joy at the same stage is vital.
Love and support each other
Be kind to anyone you see
Cherish your Mum and Dad!
If you have lost a parent this year I am so terribly sorry and so sad for your loss.
As always, my love of my family, friends, passion for my course graduates, clients and my love of fashion refocuses me when the tears come.
So I thought this blog I would bring some joy with some New Year outfits to inspire some of you to head out and have fun this year!

Dear Cin and Cal,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you both. I cant begin to tell u how much you have inspired me to follow my passion. You really do not realise the impact you have had on my life. I had come to a crossroad in my life & needed to sink or swim! I found u on FB and after speaking with you i knew Styling was my destiny.
Styling & fashion is not a new thing to me i have always had a love of all things beautiful. I grew up in a migrant family with the main priority on my mothers list was cleanliness & good food. Who cares if the crockery & drapes dont match anything or the lounge is green vinyl covered in crotchet doilies. My mum too was like yours in the sense, that she too was not generous in her compliments but could also be quite cutting in her comments. She loved us and wanted the best for us. She was a hard task master. She is my everything she is 82 and finally, I GET her.
With all that said and done I am so grateful I have met you and Cal. I know you will be not only be my mentor and teacher but also my friend for years to come.
Look forward to seeing you March 26th and 27th at Chadston in Melbourne I am so excited for part 2 of my stylist journey Advanced Certification Course.
Look out Styling world there’s a new kid on the block!
Warm regards
Georgie

Hi Georgie,
Wow. What an incredible message to receive – the reason I do what I do and how I am getting through my grief!
You are so incredibly welcome, and I cannot wait to see you again in March!
I completely relate to understanding your mum later in life, it really can take a lifetime and once you adjust your expectations of the type of how they communicate their love it transforms your understanding and relationship.
Love Cindy & Cal x

Dear Cindy
I have a low key presence on social media, so rarely comment, but do follow your blogs and love your passion and energy, and your strong values on family, love and friendship. We had a styling session a few years ago at Robina Town Centre, and it has totally changed the way I shop. I’m now a minimalist, buying only a few classic pieces every year, and adding some fashion pieces and accessories for fun each season.
So sorry to hear about the loss of your mum; may the memories always make you smile, knowing that she has left a legacy which has made you the strong and beautiful woman you are today.
Best wishes for a safe and blessed festive season.
Keep up the great work!
Fazila

Hi Felicia,
Thank you for reaching out – I do try to share my passion and energy so I am so glad you can feel it through my blogs x
Thank you for your kind wishes and wishing you and yours a merry festive season also!
I am so pleased you have transformed your style and the way you look at shopping it is such a win on so many levels to reduce and shop quality over quantity.
Love Cindy x
