Mother’s Day – It’s your day!

Happy Mother’s Day beautiful readers!

What do I want this Mother’s Day?

I want all of you to do one thing…

Give yourself permission to put yourself first!

Here is the hardest part for many…

Don’t feel guilty about it!

 

 

Mother’s Day is a special day but can bring up a range of emotions.

It may be a time to celebrate with your Mum or reflect on your relationship over the years or those you have lost.

It is also a time for introspection, to reflect on your role as a mother and your role in the world.

What is my identity outside of being a mother, and am I happy with my identity or did I lose who I was? Do I want to project myself differently?

 

 

While being a Mum is incredible in its own right,  you are not just a mum.  Who do you want to be?

I know how easy it is to focus on what the family needs, making a happy home for your partner, husband and kids.

Sometimes it’s ok to ‘indulge’ yourself!

Yes really!!

If you don’t have time, schedule time –  time for yourself.

Take a moment to write down your goals for your personal happiness and fulfilment outside of your role as a mother.

Even just start with the little things having a bath, going for walk, reading a magazine, catching up with girlfriends and build yourself up to the next steps.

 

 

Perhaps you might like a change of pace, career, or do a course you have always been interested in trying?

Spoil yourself, don’t save all your best stuff for ‘good’, wear it today, feel great today!

What can you wear this Mother’s day to feel as special as you truly are?

My Mothers Day will be spent with my 4 boys in various ways as 3 work in hospitality. I have an invitation for a gourmet breakfast, dinner in one restaurant and drinks in the other, and of course wearing what I love…..happy me!

I will be reflecting on the years and be thinking of my mum in Queensland all day!
