Winter Style Pick Me Ups
Winter Blues?
We’ve crossed into the second part of the year, when we start to anticipate warmer summer days are on the horizon. But, in the meantime, we still have some chilly days to endure, especially in Melbourne!
To help with the blues, today’s blog is hopefully going to inspire you on some subtle colour infusions to introduce.
Teals, pinks, florals pattern and stripes are a fun playful way to bring colour into a winter palette.
If you are afraid of colour, and you are unsure which colour combinations work well together, or which would suit your complexion, eye and hair colour we recommend booking a colour analysis here in Melbourne with myself.
Embellished details are another great way to add interest to an outfit … look for ruffles or a bow on the neckline or sleeves.
You can easily bring femininity and creativity into your winter work wardrobe with a beautiful white shirt in satin or silk.
Velvet and sheer patterned fabrics bring texture and appeal to an outfit too!
If you are like me, black is my friend 😊 But as you can see in these photos, a bit of colour here and there looks and feels great!
If you would like to bring some more personality and life to your wardrobe but aren’t sure where to start, we can assist with a number of fabulous services including personal shopping expeditions & wardrobe makeover.
Cue, Seed and Alannah Hill are some of the shops we’ve showcased this week.
The best part is that the sales are on and you’ll be able to grab most at a bargain price!! 😊
What are your favourite buys this winter?
Linda says
I have bought nothing this winter, i have lost 7 kilos and happy to fit back into what i already have. However at a young “55” i am excited but wary of what now suits my age, personality and body shape. Also taking into consideration i live in a regional area, but visit melbourne quite often for semi ddres up occasions. Scary stuff haha!

Hi Linda,
Thanks for the comment! 🙂
You can certainly wear what you already have with some added new accessories and shoes to make yourself feel brand new!
We find a lot of our clients in their 40’s & 50’s can dress too old before their time and sometimes a little too young.. but some of us are young at heart! Can be a tricky balance.
We are running a Personal Style & Body Shape Workshop on September 2nd if you would like to make the trip to Melbourne is a fun day where all of your questions will be answered!

Hi,
I love the sheer dotty dress that appears on your winter article. However l looked up the name that was listed under the photo on the Seed website and the dress looks completely different. Is the dress from Seed?
Thanks
Cheers
Cindy Newstead says
Hi Bec,
You are correct! It is completely different as it is from Gorman!!
Our apologies Bec!

Hi Cindy,
I can’t wait for my course start in February 2018.
However, I will be more than happy to start earlier, if there are vacant places in December .
I love following your tips and hints given in your blogs , and I really liked the long pink dress and the silver platform sandals complimenting the dress.
I think it was in Sep 14 th post.
Can you tell me where can I get them from please?
Thanks,
Manet

Hi Manet,
So thrilled you are excited. We’d love to have you along in December. We will give you a call to discuss. 🙂
The long pink dress was one I had made in Vietnam so not available in stores but the silver shoes are from H&M.
Thanks Manet
