Runway to Every Day Model Series: Part 3
We hope you are enjoying our model series and finding the style information both resourceful and inspiring.
Today we’re bringing you the lovely Fiona who was third to take to the Chadstone stage during our Runway to Every Day events.
Fiona is 33 years of age, wears a size 16 and is a Style With Cindy enthusiast! She regularly shops with me, has completed a wardrobe consultation, the stylist course, along with make-up and colour analysis sessions.
Fiona has also attended many past Style Review events, so we were delighted to invite her to swap places and take to the runway this year.
Body Shape:
Fiona is a strong inverted triangle, this is defined by her broad shoulders and full chest area. Fiona’s curves can also mean that she can look more hourglass, especially if we don’t overbalance her top half!
Our aim when dressing Fiona was to highlight her gorgeous waist and enhance her curvaceous figure where we could without adding unnecessary bulk to her upper torso and thigh area.
Outfit One: Casual

Firstly, we need to point out that there is no hard and fast rule on wearing horizontal stripes on a curvy figure and here’s why: The stripes are broad with ample space in between each one. The print actually works to highlight Fiona’s body shape, emphasising her curves in all the right places.
We’ve also folded the capped sleeves of the dress a touch, to break up the striped pattern and not cause width across the arms and bust area.
The 3/4 length of the dress (on the calves) is flattering for Fiona and the side split softens the bottom of the dress without clinging to her thigh area.
While We’ve played with a strong monochrome look throughout this outfit, we decided to add a neutral colour shoe to support a day time look.
Dress: Seed
Shoes: Santini
Bracelet: Mimco Necklace: Lovisa , Bag: Sportsgirl
Outfit Two: Smart Casual

In this day time look, we’ve chosen three structured pieces across the monochromatic trend that help create a strong and stylish outfit.
We’ve kept the dark colours on Fiona’s lower body opting for an ankle-cropped pant that lengthens Fiona’s legs and highlights her patent shoes. The pants have a flat front streamlining her stomach area and are beautifully tailored to work with Fiona’s curves.
We’ve chosen a vertical stripe (generally a slimming pattern) on her shirt and allowed it to peek out under Fiona’s structured white blazer
We’ve chosen a blazer with no collar and simple detailing to keep Fiona’s upper torso “fuss-free” and with the outfit speaking for itself, accessories were kept to a minimum: chic black on black.
Blazer: Country Road
Shirt: Country Road
Pants: Country Road
Shoes: Santini
Accessories: Sportsgirl
Outfit Three: Evening

Fiona looks incredibly feminine and stylish with this black and white ensemble.
While we’ve chosen a high neckline for Fiona and used the white detailing along the neckline to deflect from emphasising her chest area.
The fitted top highlights Fiona’s tiny waist and works beautifully with the box print skirt, the cut of her top is perfect for broad shoulders.
The print of the skirt offers a point of interest and sitting at knee length is flattering creating a feminine and slimming silhouette for Fiona. I have purposefully placed the print on the bottom half to bring the eyes away from the top, apart from the detail at the neck.
This outfit is a great alternative to the original LBD with black and white contrast accessories used to complete the look.
Added note: Fiona could easily translate this look by adding a headpiece for the upcoming Spring Racing Carnival.
Top: Veronika Maine
Skirt: Veronika Maine
Shoes: Nine West
Accessories and Bag: Cue
We hope you enjoyed Fiona’s looks and some monochromatic style inspiration, doesn’t she look great!! Do you like any of these looks for yourself?
See you Tuesday with Nicole!
Love Cindy x

Love the dress at the top and the tip about the horizontal stripes….I would have shied away from them on a size 16, but they look great and the rolled sleeve works. Love it x
Thanks Lara!! x
