Runway to Every Day Re-Cap Series Model 2
Welcome to part two of our Runway to Every Day model series.
We’d love to introduce Tamara who is 34 years of age, wears a size 8 to 10 and has completed multiple shops, a wardrobe audit and style workshop with Style With Cindy.
Body Shape:
Tamara shares the same body shape as Marilyn Monroe and Sofia Loren: the coveted hourglass body shape.
Her hourglass shape is defined by Tamara’s shoulders being the same width as her hips and her waist being approximately eight inches smaller than these areas.
Tamara’s main problem area is her thighs, so when selecting clothing for the runway, we had to ensure we had shape in all of her outfits while making sure nothing added weight to her thigh area.
Aim: When dressing Tamara, it was important not to deviate away from her shape and use clothing selections that showcased her beautiful curves.
Outfit One: Casual

Tamara loved her every day outfit so much she purchased the entire thing!
We’ve used dark denim below to create a slimming effect on her thighs and the cuffed bottoms to further draw attention away from the area.
The “punch” coloured jacket softens the biker chick look making it appropriate for the spring season and it also cinches in at Tamara’s waist highlighting the best part of the hourglass shape.
We’ve layered the jacket over a light coloured shirt with complementing scarf and chosen the pastel-inspired colours to work to complement Tamara’s hair colour, eye colour and skin tone.
The casual camel coloured accessories we’ve added help to translate this effortless look to daytime.

Outfit Two: Smart Casual

Aww (!!) the audience cried when Tamara came out with this gorgeous ensemble.
This outfit showcases one of the latest seasonal trends, La Dolce Vita (The Sweet Life) showcasing pops of colour and very feminine structures.
The bright yellow shift dress we’ve chosen for Tamara is structured without clinging to any part of her body, including her thighs.
We’ve cinched in her waist with a green patent contrast belt which draws the attention to Tamara’s smallest area and we’ve linked in the colours with her bag and elements on the cardigan.
The cardigan is super fun, featuring coloured love hearts on a grey background, bringing the eye to the top of Tamara’s body and adding that “sweet” factor to the outfit.
The outfit didn’t need too much accessorising so we’ve kept the shoes a neutral colour and added a simple cuff.
Dress: Gorman
Cardigan: Alannah Hill
Shoes: Santini
Accessories: Bag: Alannah Hill, Cuff: Mimco, Belt: Alannah Hill
Outfit Three: Evening

In the final outfit, we’ve played with the white on white (light pastels) trend and created something oh-so-elegant for Tamara.
The dress sits flush to her torso, highlighting her waist with the skirt section of the dress in a flattering A-line shape.
The long trench is beautifully structured and while this look is fairly neutral, it manages to still be quite striking in quality and fabrics.
The accessories reflect an evening look featuring sequins, pearls and shiny bronze metallic’s that work well with the neutral patent pumps.

Remember that hourglass figures are hard to find. It’s actually been revealed in several statistics that approximately 8% of the population is an hourglass shape.
So if you are one of the lucky few, be sure to celebrate your curves and choose clothes that accentuate your exclusive shape.
I hope you were inspired by Tamara’s looks (many that will translate to other body shapes as well) and we’ll see you Thursday with Fiona.
Love Cindy x
