Academy Awards Red Carpet Looks Translated to You
The Academy Awards are not only about outstanding films & actors but incredible Fashion!
This year saw the return of old Hollywood glamour.
Looks were elegant, classic and romantic.
Svelte silhouette gowns with soft trains, luxurious fabrics such as velvet and rich lace, long capes, romantic embellishments and beading featured across beautiful metallic creations.
Stars played it safe this year with classic cuts and styles, steering away from the daring looks previously seen on the red carpet.
Luckily, this has made them easily translatable to the everyday person
You may have noticed the mirroring of trends in stores to what you have seen on the carpet and may be wondering how you can translate this to your look.
I thought I would share a few outfits with you inspired by the red carpet & this season’s style.
Red Carpet to Real Life
Gold
Gold was clearly on trend this year with multiple stars walking the red carpet with embellished creations styled with 30’s and 40’s hair and makeup.
Gold is featured heavily in stores in the form of pleated skirts, satin camis & accents to heels.
Don’t go overboard with gold, unless you are on a red carpet of course! Gold paired back with black is elegant and on trend without going over the top.
White
White is an on-trend colour that also translates into everyday pieces such as classic and versatile capris, jeans fresh camis, shirts & even t-shirts.
White is fabulous for workwear and special events such as capes, jumpsuits and structured dresses.
Country Road is currently featuring beautiful fresh white camis, shirts and beautiful structured dresses and blouses.
Nude & Blush Pinks
Nude & Blush Pink are dominant in stores and on the red carpet.
Bring nude and blush into your Autumn/Winter wardrobe this season.
Feminine, soft and romantic nude & blush are beautiful in Autumn and Winter paired with light grey and navy, these pretty hues add a contrast and soften your look.
Classic Styles
You will have noticed the Stars sticking to classic styles and colours this year such as black & red.
The great things about a classic style, is when you identify your body shape, you can return to the right figure flattering cut again and again and purchase in new season colours if you prefer to be on trend.
My favourite dress for a classic and elegant look is Kirsten Dunst in this stunning Dior creation, which highlights her fantastic figure.
Tell me what looks you are loving and which red carpet look you would like to translate!
