New Years Resolutions: New Year New You
New Year is the perfect time to execute change! Great in theory but how and what?
So this New Year’s blog is a little different!
Change doesn’t have to be complete; it can just be a daily decision to do things differently, but with consciousness!
As I say in my book “You Are More Than Just Your Bits”, change is a choice, and then it needs to be implemented daily!
I think style is mood based, as with the colours we choose to wear. We tend to wear what we feel at the time.
For many of us, getting into a rut with wearing similar styles day in day out is what we tend to do, due to lack of time, too hard to think outside the square and sometimes lack imagination!
We can all place a different definition of what we call a style, I understand this, but I want you to think about what resonates with you!
So, as I say to all my clients, use those magazines, Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook or store look books to find inspiration for fashion that excites you, that you feel speaks to who you are. Find a style that you love!
I thought I would help you start by giving you some insight into just three of the myriad of styles you could be drawn to.
Remember if these styles do not resonate with you there are many others out there!
Every day we work with our clients to create their own unique style, so rest assured there is a style to suit every personality!
- Feminine
Think pretty, soft, floaty, lace and ruffles.
Alannah Hill epitomises femininity and Forever New is another good option for the budget conscious.
- Sleek
Sleek can be described as streamlined, elegant, strong and lustrous.
Life With Bird is a label synonymous with sophisticated and simple styles, and Witchery is a great option with a lesser price tag.
- Bold
Being bold in your style is all about making a statement! This can be with fun prints, cuts and styles and using bright colours to highlight your fashion personality.
Gorman is full of creative and loud prints and cuts that turn heads. For those on a budget French Connection have some very fun pieces.
It is also important to remember that if you find a look that you love, but you know won’t suit your shape, there are plenty of options out there in cuts and styles that will suit you, that will reflect the style you have chosen.
We have our expert stylists on hand to assist you with adapting a style to your body shape, colour characteristics, lifestyle and budget.
How would you like to be perceived in 2017?
- Do you want change?
- Is your look/style repetitive?
- New Year/New career?
- New Year – New partner?
- Is 2017 a year in making an investment in YOU????
Creating change in your look/style can be done so easily with planning and a fun attitude.
Select a style or 2 or 3 and work toward them!
Reinvention does not need to be drastic – it’s the thought process around it – thinking about it and as I said earlier, making conscious decisions daily to look at yourself.
New Year, have you booked in a shop?
Plan – Stake in the ground!
I hope this helps you get started for the year and that we touch base very soon!
