New Year Inspiration

Why Inspiration you may be asking?

Well, in my job as a personal fashion stylist I consistently meet many women who amaze and inspire me!

From time to time throughout our lives we are all motivated to achieve change for many different reasons – some of us are pushed by our partners/parents/friends and for some of us we are totally self-motivated to create a better us!

I also witness many women who consistently draw on their inner strength to make continuous positive changes to themselves and their lives, this inner strength we all have, but don’t often use (myself included) until a major life event hits us square in the face.

I‘m absolutely blown away by women who I shop with every year, I watch their life unfold before me – weight gain, weight loss, family dramas & tragedies, women who go through life threatening traumas, and what I see so often in these women is a strong will to be better, look better, be healthier, which often leads to the hard to achieve goal of weight loss, but most importantly, these changes ignite a new energy and spirit that has them feeling great about themselves.

I have chosen to write this because I now have a new chapter in my life to deal with, my mum being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

This has been a tremendous shock and has made me realize that time is short and precious, it can also be cruel and that putting off for tomorrow what can be done today to achieve our goals is not really the way to go.

My New Year’s Resolution will be to love harder/forgive more and live each day with more fun and excitement and not resent my to do list, but to be thankful that I even have one.

Overall, how has your year been?

What do you want for YOU in 2014?

goodby 2014

Happy New Year to you all and again, thank you so much for all of your support of what I do!!

Lots of Love,

Cindy xx

Lovely to read your Inspiration Letter, our family has had a very unsettling year. My daughters boyfriend was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma a rare type of bone cancer the day after boxing day last year 2011 he is now 23. This past year I have seen my daughter grow into a wonderful, patient & loving 21 year old women. They have been together since she was 16-1/2 she is by his side for all his chemo & radiator therapy which has been intense trying to beat this aggressive cancer. The battle continues as he has to start another round of chemo on Monday. We are all hoping this year is the year he beats it!!
I have always told both my children to make the most of their lives and run with any opportunity that they are given. Lets hope dreams do come true in 2014

    Cindy
Thank you for a year full of inspiration and good humour. I thoroughly enjoyed your workshop on the Gold Coast and am improving my dress sense as time goes on.
I am sorry to hear about your mum and feel sad about what lays ahead for you and your family. I, too, have just been given similar news re my mum. Life is a blessing and having precious time with all our family is just irreplaceable. I wish you and your family a happy new year for 2014 and the only thing I could possibly wish for myself is for my mum not to suffer in whatever time she has remaining. She is so wonderful!!
    HAPPY 2014 TO EVERYONE..

    Hi Cindy.
Lovely blog post and I am sure you inspire many (me included).
This has been a huge year of change for me, I left my job of 15 years to follow a dream of being a Personal Stylist and spend more time with my boys.
2014 I am hoping to be very busy where my to do list gets a bit out of control :-).
Happy New Year and enjoy each moment.

HI Cindy, wishing you the very best for 2014 and keep the inspiration that you give to everyone going. Sorry to hear about your mums diagnosis. Was just telling my daughter the other day that we all need to make sure that we cherish the time with our families no matter what their ages and make sure that everything you want to say to your loved ones is said so there are no regrets. Every minute with loved ones is special.
Friend of mine put this lovely caption on facebook the other day
“Ever had a memory that sneaks out of your eye and rolls down your cheek?”
I feel that this interpretation of a tear was lovely – not sadness – just memories of wonderful times. Have the best 2014 you can and the very best for your business.

Happy New Year Cindy and to your beautiful family. Your NY resolution I am stealing. Very heartfelt replies have me crying too. Loved the explanation of a tear. I am hoping 9 weeks annual leave will inspire me to continue our house renovations. 2 weeks of which we are spending in Tassie. All the best for 2014!

    Hi Cindy,

I wonder if you’ve actually looked at yourself in the mirror. You are an inspiration in yourself and touch all of our lives with your inner beauty, courage and strength. I know you will come through shining, as you have always done and forge forward in your own, inimitable way.

2013 was a challenging year in many ways but with the best outcome! Your 2 courses were the highlight, not only for their own sake, but for the gift of getting to know you as the giving, authentic person that you are. (And that too is “heartfelt”)

I hope 2014 brings you all that you wish for.

    Love

    Nikki
