Runway to Every Day Model Series: Tanyah

We’re almost at the end of our runway series and today we introduce the lovely Tanyah.

Tanyah is 35 years of age and wears a size 6-8. She has completed a series of Style with Cindy services including a workshop, personal shop along with a colour and make-up consultation. Tanyah was keen to learn how to cultivate her own personal style and enjoy fashion for her age ans well as learn what suits her body shape.

Body Shape:

Like our last model Sharyn, Tanyah is an hourglass, very lean with a fairly flat chest. She has height on her side, slim legs and the perfect shoulder to hip ratio.

Aim:

Due to Tanyah’s slender figure it’s important to really showcase her feminine silhouette and not lose her curves, so adding shape as well as giving the illusion of a bigger bust

Outfit One: Casual

Tanyah looks effortlessly chic in this layered winter look.

We’ve opted for an overall cool colour palette through black fitted pants and dark accessories but brought in a monochromatic black and white pattern through the top with a higher neckline.

Tanyah has a small bust area, so we used the pattern and necklace atop to bulk up this area a touch. This follows the dressing rule 101 of adding bulk where you need it and keeping things simple where you don’t.

You’ll see the long cardigan further elongates Tanyah while also bringing in warmth through its coffee colour and creating edge to her look.

We’ve played with classic black accessories via the ankle boots, a timeless tote bag and a simple cuff to finish this look.

Outfit Two: Smart Casual

We think this outfit was a crowd favourite. We loved Tanyah in this edgy ensemble sourced directly from Alannah Hill.

We find many women avoid this store believing they will find nothing more than pink bows and baby doll dresses but you’ll be presently surprised with Alannah Hill’s collection this year. It is a little tough and edgy in a place where lace meets leather.

So with Tanyah’s look we’ve brought in some bold colours to complement her complexion and used detailing in areas we wanted to accentuate.

This pleated skirt could be considered too cute if it didn’t feature the black foundation and muted floral pattern. It cinches in at the waist and is an A-line out to the knee.

This also showcases Tanyah’s slender legs and allowed us to use a more closed shoe to tone down the femininity in this look.

The top underneath is a bold fuchsia colour and features a tie up at the bottom and vertical button closing directing attention to Tanyah’s small waist.

For the cover up we’ve opted for a deep navy leather jacket – the new black for winter leather. The collarless jacket opens up Tanyah’s neckline and we have the top peeking out from under the sleeves to connect the entire look.

Outfit Three: Evening

Tanyah looks oh so elegant in this evening look where we’ve again taken on another trend working with a monochromatic black and white colour palette.

This foundation black look features tone-on-tone including a structured blazer, patterned dress and accessories.

We’ve cinched Tanyah’s waist with a wide belt to showcase it and really create that curvy silhouette.

We also love the angled horizontal patterns featured on the dress that curves in all the right places drawing out from her waist.

The quality fabric and tailoring is fitted on Tanyah without clinging. Overall, the outfit elongates her body and all we needed was a modern Mary Jane-inspired heel and black clutch to complete the look.
