Shopping Spot Worth Exploring!
Welcome to our latest Mystery Shop where Lacey and I garner your attention for a cryptic few moments.
We love introducing you or encouraging you to visit/revisit our store favourites and us usual, the following rules apply:
- The store is at Chadstone – The Fashion Capital (may be other locations)
- Use the photos as visual clues for recognition of the clothing collection or store design
- No glancing at the answer below – eyes up! Let’s go!
Okay, so the first thing you need to know about this store is that you may misinterpret it as purely a menswear brand.
Sure, it used to be just menswear but has branched out into a substantial amount of women’s’ wear ranging from size 6 to 14.
The clothing cut is on the smaller side, but you’ll love the silhouette focus of each piece where tailoring and structure is key.
Women who work in a smart casual to corporate workplace could use this store as an alternative to CUE when seeking contemporary yet quality work wear.
Currently, there is a bit of sales hangover as the store continues its summer reductions but there is also an abundance of black items on offer.
Yes, I have already ventured in for my black fashion fix! There are some incredible LBD’s just waiting to go home with you…or me!
Oh and speaking of sales, there is still up to 75% off the entire collection so get in quick – well – once you know where you’re going.
Now for those of you who like a little history clue, this brand opened their first store in the late 1970’s at Bondi Beach, Sydney.
However, there was no beachwear in sight. Instead, the owners were keen to bridge a gap between mainstream chain retail and designer clothing.
And that they did.
Today, you’ll find an array of modern yet classic pieces on the racks across 20 stores nationally.
In terms of the clothes, the skirts (some on sale) are currently featured in digital prints, geometric patterns and blurred florals.
Cuts are classic so think pencil skirt with a peplum here and there.
Women’s business shirts are beautifully tailored but offer a little twist. Subtle leopard prints, small patterns and nautical stripes are favoured and bring some interest to some of the more basic blouse/shirt styles.
Shift and structured dresses in black and cobalt will work to your silhouette or you can opt for tailored shorts and skirts – all very suitable for the office or a mix-and-match affair.
Now while the clothes are fabulous, I think the accessories are having all the fun.
Soft leather handbags, luxurious scarves, belts, cufflinks for the gentleman and some really quirky costume jewellery – all affordable.
Now for the gentleman, some classic cufflinks and leather shoes complement the European-inspired feel to their clothing fabric and designs.
Black, navy and elegant coloured shirts, subtle prints and streamlined suits made from Australian merino wool.
Blazers work with the allocated suit or can layer over a shirt or knit.
Also, any in-store advertising for this store may appear young – don’t be intimidated.
I believe this brand has utilised the small frames of young women and men for the shoot but the clothing itself is demographically broad.
They cleverly inject an on-trend colour or print into a simple style that is designed to last.
And again, no it’s not just a menswear store.
Oh and sure we may be bias but the staff at Chadstone were truly delightful and the boys – well according to us – oh so cute and polite.
It’s worth a visit for a little chivalry 🙂 and a dress – obviously.
Okay – so who guessed that we were at Oxford?
Have you been, do you already shop there or have you only sent your husband/boyfriend/male counterpart there for a “suit”?
We would love to hear what you thought of today’s looks and if we’ve perhaps inspired you to take a shop!
Let me know will you try anything on? Or maybe it’s one of your favourites? I look forward to hearing from you in the comments below 🙂
