Tips For Dressing While Pregnant
Are you pregnant, or have a friend who is pregnant?
This is a subject that I am very familiar with as I have had four children. However, maternity wear has changed dramatically since I had my boys.
Back in the olden days, maternity wear was reasonably horrible – daggy, oversized, and really quite matronly!
As I was only in my early 20’s at the time I was boggle eyed at the whole process and didn’t know any different, all I could do was go along with what guidance I had from my mum.
These days, pregnant women have a much broader choice of clothing, and realistically, most don’t even have to be maternity – apart from jeans and trousers.
I was inspired to do this post by the very pretty lady who works in the building where my office/studio is located at Chadstone.
Jade is 27 and 26 weeks pregnant and every time I see her I genuinely comment on how lovely she looks. Yes, she has that lovely pregnant glow we’ve all heard about, but I also find myself admiring her choice of outfits almost daily.
This office does not require a highly corporate look, however, Jade always manages to rock up to work looking great.
She has told me that she is a bargain shopper when it comes to maternity wear as she won’t be able to wear the items again at any other time. The shops she has shopped at so far are Kmart, Target, Millers (online ebay and Asos) and has had some luck buying bigger size clothing on sale.
Below are a few photos Jade has sent me:

Some things to think about:
1. Try not to overspend on clothes while pregnant.
2. Buy stretchy fabrics that will bounce back – eg. Anything from Metalicus!
3. Comfort is everything, but don’t lose style, you can achieve both 🙂
4. Buy yourself some costume jewellery to change your looks.
5. Wear wedges to create height and comfort.
6. This is a special time for you, wear perfume and pamper yourself regularly – hair, nails, massages, the lot!
7. Remember though – relaxed does not equal sloth.
8. Keep your outfits fitted – tents are extremely unflattering!
