Invest in Yourself this Spring
Too often we neglect ourselves and put other things first. We believe that it is selfish and vain to spend time on ourselves when there are others we should be more concerned with. But disregarding our own needs is not only a detriment to our own self, but to everyone else around us. If we don’t care for ourselves we can be left with self esteem issues, and much worse, depression.
A lot of my clients come to me with this exact problem. They are at a constant emotional low and are quite often stuck in an exhausting rut. In almost all cases, the root cause of this is that they forgot to put themselves first.
Now, I know for many of us this can be a difficult thing to do, as putting ourselves first is a selfish act, right? We live in a world that brands selfishness as wrong, but the reality is, if you don’t feel good about yourself then you will be giving a feeble, miserable version of yourself to those around you.
The effects this can have on your relationships with those around you are dire. Don’t even get me started on the message your behaviour sends out as a role model. I’m sure you want the best for your children, so you need to show them what that is.
Do you feel like you are stuck in a rut? Is your appearance getting you down? If so, then perhaps it is time to do something about it. Take small steps this spring and invest some time in yourself for a change. If you do this, you will immediately start feeling better about yourself, and those around you will be happier for it.
Every day I watch people transform into brighter, happier versions of themselves. Dressing in clothes that are perfect for their body shape, and choosing outfits that bring out their personality, they are bouncing off the walls with excitement after just an hour and it is such a rewarding thing to see.
Fashion, style, and clothing in general is seen as frivolous by many people, but in my experience, it’s a frivolous topic that can turn peoples lives around.
Here are some steps you can take to invest in yourself this spring!
- Breathe some life back into your wardrobe and make it Spring ready (see my recent post to get some tips).
- Do some pampering – get your hair done, or your nails (or both!). Or maybe even a massage to release some of that pent-up winter tension. Just do something selfish is all I ask!
- Start thinking about how you want to look – flick through some magazines, and take some time to look around the shops.
- Have a girls night, and do some girly things! You could come along to my style runway for a fun night out and some great fashion tips that are based on real bodies and everyday clothes. Click here to learn more…
Whatever you decide to do, make a commitment to a better you, and invest in yourself this spring.
