My Outfit Options For The Christmas Celebrations
Christmas has arrived and congratulations to those who have already survived an abundance of events throughout this silly season.
Not done yet? Neither am I. Like many of you, I still have some end of year gatherings, holiday events and of course, Christmas Day!
So today I’m giving you a glimpse of some looks I’m considering for my own events as I like to prepare what I’m wearing in advance.
Earlier this year, many of you would remember that my husband and I attended my stepdaughter Brianna’s Albanian wedding during our Europe trip. As it turns out, the newlyweds and some relatives are heading down under to celebrate all over again in early January so I’m looking forward to welcoming them for Christmas.
Over the Christmas/New Year period I will also be having a work break up with a few of my Melbourne team from Style With Cindy. We’re heading to a wine bar in Camberwell followed by Thai food and below are a couple of options of what I might wear on the night.
Option 1: Forever New jumpsuit, Ninewest shoes – Good shape for Hourglass and Rectangle
Option 2: Bardot pants, Thurley top and Aldo heels – Good for Inverted Triangle, Rectangle and Hourglass.
Now, I always have more than one option when I’m dressing for an event because a woman is entitled to change her mind at the last minute without judgement – it just makes sense to be prepared for the inevitable i.e. should the weather or location change right down to what mood I might be in or what colour I “feel” like wearing. (Yes, they’re all acceptable reasons).
Christmas Eve is open at the moment as I have been put on call for possible media interviews at Chadstone so here are a few of my options:
Option 1: White Cue dress with Aldo shoes – good for hourglass, triangle, inverted triangle body shapes
Option 2: White dress from Florence and Aldo heel – Good for inverted triangle, hourglass and rectangle
Later on Christmas Eve, we are planning a family get together at a lake with as many kids as I can hook in and our Albanian guests! So after a quick change at Chadstone, here is what I’m thinking (weather dependent of course)!
Option 1: French Connection Maxi and Santini Wedges – great for hourglass and triangle body shapes.
Option 2: Finders Keepers Jumpsuit from David Jones and Santini clogs – great for Inverted Triangle, hourlgass and Rectangle
On Christmas Day itself we have my in-laws over for a light breakfast and gift giving followed by a wine and a light bite at my sons restaurant. Following this relaxing morning, you’ll find us in the kitchen preparing a festive dinner for 14 guests, both family and friends. Now I’ve allocated the task of what I’ll be wearing to my husband as he generally buys me an outfit for Christmas and I’m proud to say he’s rarely got it wrong. However, preparation is key so if he doesn’t quiet get it right then my alternative options are below!
Option 1 for Brekky/Lunch: Thurley top and shorts with Athens Wedges – perfect for hourglass, inverted triangle and rectangle
Option 2: Cue top and shorts with my Athens Wedges – good for hourglass, inverted triangle and rectangle
Now that you know what I’m thinking of wearing, I would love to know what you have planned. If you haven’t chosen any outfits yet then I hope this inspires you to make a plan!! Because planning ahead is key to looking and feeling good about what you wear.
So comment below and tell me, what do you have planned to wear to what occasion?
Love Cindy xx

Hey, Cindy
I’m absolutely rapt I’m on track with a similar style. I have a black singlet top with black sequins from W-Lane similar to your Forever New jumpsuit, and a white dress similar to your white Cue dress only without the cut-outs from Piper at Myers, together with my white platform shoes from Williams (30% off) that are so much like yours from Santini. I think I’ve been studying your blogs very well. You’re a great teacher. lol.
Leanne, that made me smile!!! Love that you are obviously loving what I do!! Have a great Christmas. x
Hi Cindy,
Love your choices!
I’m in all white for Xmas Eve. Just a black edging on a lovely flowing top from Seduce. White pants, also from Seduce, same style as yours. Nude very high strappy sandals from Dolci Firme. Accessories to give the outfit the “wow factor” are also in black and white bling. You’ll remember the outfit…..you picked it and it blows everyone away!
Have a wondeerful break
Love
Nikki
Hi Cindy, I have chosen a green jumpsuit from David Lawrence, easy to wear, hides a multitude of sins and just feels good on, I teem that with a lovely belt to add some shape. I attended one of your classes about 4 years ago and have never looked back, people are always commenting on my weight loss but in fact it’s all about dressing to suit my shape, thanks Cindy and merry Xmas!
Oh Nikki, I’m so pleased that you are wearing that outfit, stunning! My outfits are all weather dependent and mood dependent 🙂 Most outfits will be worn with a nude heel……….need my height! Merry Christmas beautiful, speak in the New Year. xx
Hi Cindy,
You look fabulous in all of the above.
The Forever New jumpsuit is the standout!
Enjoy all you Christmas celebrations 🙂
Thanks Cate! I hope you are pleased with your Christmas looks also and have a wonderful Christmas!! x
Hi Cindy,
What a bunch of great outfits. My favourites are the forever new jumpsuit, FCUK dress and the cue outfits. I love summer and the festivities that come with it. The hardest part is try to keep the body in good enough shape with all the parties and Chrissy treats that are circulating at the moment!
Thanks Kim, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and keep walking in between eating – definitely helps! Cindy x
After your November workshop at Chaddy I have been inspired. 1/3 of my wardrobe has gone and many good purchases made. My husband thinks it great. Looking forward to booking a shop with you in 2014. Regarding the blog here it’s great to see the comments include the body shape. I love many outfits you put together and knowing if they suit my shape and lack of height(!) is really helpful. Have a wonderful Christmas.
Fantastic Nic, so nice to think I have made a difference in your life!!! =) I hope you have a wonderful Christmas! Love Cindy x
Oh Cindy! if I have to choose, I love your fashion in the 1st 2 pics and then the maxi dress pic, those fashions look absolutely stunning! on you and you look absolutely gorgeous!!! Cindy, I wanted to ask you something about fashion, I have wondered about this for sometime now as I am in my 50’s and self-conscious about my neck area still, not that I have yet but should I wear sequins or shiny fabrics at all on my upper body if its like a scooped out neckline with a light-weight, waisted-jacket over the top, as a colour stylist advised I should avoid shimmery fabrics on my chest area, is this right for me?
For me, I love! maxis sooo feminine!!!, they are my casual/dressy wear and only since attending your excellent! SWC training I now wear them belted on my waist. However this year with Christmas expected to be hot!!! on the Gold Coast, I recently found a few gorgeous large-printed, modern- floral, 100%-cotton!!! dresses that are effectively sleeveless, with a fitted-bodice, wide waist-band and hem only just covers my knees. I am going to team that with one of my usual light-weight waist, short sleeved jackets to cover my upper arms and my new! nude high heel sandals (once I get down mum’s steep driveway) to let the dress stand out. Mum hasn’t seen my new fashion style yet, and I know she will want pics of me in this, especially since I will be wearing my new! found Organic makeup I bought after having a makeup trial (I bought a 7x magnifying LED cosmetic mirror to use until my eye op) and I’ve had my hair chopped 6 inches upto my shoulders and I wanted it lightened and brightened to reflect the new work-in-progress me. So Cindy, if you want, I will send you a pic after Christmas Day of me in my new fashion I wore to have Christmas Day with Mum only, (my boyfriend later that afternoon may not like my dress, but hey! I will love!!! it, and him regardless 🙂 Happy!!! Christmas to you and Calvin, big hugs
Hi Deanne, That should be fine, however, you will need to use your own judgement here about the sequin/shiny top. If it makes the unwanted stand out then you should probably avoid those fabrics! I would LOVE to see a picture of you Christmas day so please put on the blog and Facebook page =) Merry Christmas Deanne!!! Cindy x
