Runway to Every Day Re-cap Series – Model 1
Welcome to our first post in our Runway to Every Day model series.
On Tuesday, we sent you a re-cap of the events that took place at Chadstone – The Fashion Capital that saw seven Style With Cindy clients take to the runway and showcase the latest in-store fashions in outfits specifically selected for them.
Over the next three weeks, we will be featuring each model from the latest runway and details of their style transformations.
So first up is client Melissa Hunter, aged 42, a size 10 and who was the first to brave the runway. Melissa has completed multiple shops with Style With Cindy, a style workshop, make-up tuition and attended our Style Review events in the past.
Body Shape:
Melissa’s horizontal body shape is a strong inverted triangle that is defined by straight and broad shoulders while being quite narrow in the hips. Her vertical body shape is balanced.
Aim: To avoid bulking the top part of Melissa’s body and bring more detail below.
Outfit One: Casual
Melissa looks fresh in this casual dress showcasing this season’s favourite hemline length: the midi. As the dress just grazes Melissa’s calves, it is a very flattering length for her and works well with her strappy sandals.
The collar, buttons and simple pocket detailing at the top of the dress sits softly on Melissa’s shoulders and we’ve broken up the dress with a belt to highlight her waist and pull the attention to her smaller areas.
As the dress is black and beautifully slimming, we’ve added the tan bag and shoes to bring ‘warmth’ to the outfit and tie in nicely with the gold accents in the jewellery and belt. This outfit is perfect for a day out lunching and could even translate into the evening in the warmer months.

Outfit Two: Smart Casual
This is the most challenging of dress codes for many women and for Melissa we’ve opted for this season’s white on white trend and she looked luminous!
This dress is super flattering on Melissa thanks to the way it fluidly moves around her body shape. It doesn’t cling to her body but still holds structure, remaining simple around her shoulders and with all the detailing in the centre of the dress, it again accentuates Melissa’s small waist.
Other than the pop of colour found on Melissa’s necklace, we’ve opted for a white bag and white heels as this latest white-on-white trend is meant to showcase a “no-fuss” and fresh finish.

Outfit Three: Evening
We loved this look on Melissa that took on a touch of the black and white monochromatic trend keeping darker colours on the top (taking attention away from her shoulders) and drawing the eye below.
Monochromatic doesn’t have to be applied in solid colours, it can also be mixed with prints as seen here with Melissa’s solid black peplum top and white skirt with a delicate baroque print.
This season is still playing with peplum tops but as you’ll see here on Melissa, we’ve ensured it sits flat at the front drawing the eye while making the outfit more interesting.
While the overall outfit is elegant, we decided to toughen it up a touch with a studded clutch, patent heels and a patent belt featuring silver clasps.
