Save vs. Splurge: End of Financial Year
I like my money right where I can see it… hanging in my closet ~ Carrie Bradshaw
This famous Sex and the City line continues to resonate with women everywhere and is very applicable this time of year.
We have now come to financial year-end which is also the close of the mid-year sales period.
Now I know many of you have spent the last month shopping up a wardrobe storm whilst some of you are saving for a post July 1 shop.
Don’t worry, I’m not here to lecture you as just like Ms Bradshaw, my wardrobe is indeed a reflection of financial investment, time and above all filled with items I love.
So instead, today’s blog post is dedicated to both the bargain hunters (you have a few days left) and those seeking to spend a little larger next month.
So first a reminder: A bargain is great – IF you need it 🙂
It is easy to get caught up in the excitement of watching items you’ve been coveting slashed in prices.
However, that ‘high’ can quickly diminish if you realise the items you purchased aren’t really useful and like many of us, end up in the back of the wardrobe, tags attached, never to see the light of day.
Now that is unfortunate.
This is why in some cases full price items can be preferable. In terms of shopping, full price clothing is generally the latest item available and risking the wait of it going on sale could see it sold out or not available in your size.
Finally, we all know the age old saying the style cannot be bought so whatever your budget, we encourage smart shopping so you do end up with a useful wardrobe filled with items you love too.
I hope you enjoy our finds whether you’re saving or splurging this month.
As always, do comment below if you’ve found any items worth sharing – we love hearing from you.
