Secret Shopping Spot

Today’s blog is inspired by a shop I am enjoying working in at the moment. It has provided me with inspiration and countless options and solutions for many of my clients. Fuelled by the opportunity to try things on in a relaxing and friendly environment, I share with you my opinions and suggestions and show you visually what I’m talking about.

This store is on trend and covers so many options for so many body shapes. It is truly a one-stop shop, some shoes, accessories, casual and smart casual options.

Throughout this year we have noticed a strong trend towards monochromic colours. This trend appeals to me personally so I have chosen to model a few options that suit my taste and style so you can perhaps be inspired to go in and try some things on. 🙂

The fit of clothing in this store is generally on the more generous side, however, as in any store, especially one new to you, taking a couple of sizes in to try on is always a great idea, particularly if the item is more fitted and structured in its shape. Once you get a feel for the sizing it may be possible to pull from the rack and buy directly but when a store or style is new, it’s best to try things on.

The first look I wanted to show you is a loose summer dress with spaghetti straps. I have added a short-crop, white leather blazer over the top to draw in some shape at my waist. This is a great dress for anyone who feels they have a tummy that needs a little disguising or for those who prefer flowing to fitted clothing.

The next outfit I quite like for both a smart casual day look and a dinner out. It is fully lined and did not cling at all. I think I feel a purchase coming on…..  I love the stripe and bit of metallic detailing and I have to say, it is sooooo comfortable, a plus for any multi-purpose outfit.

This dress is brand new in the store. I love the simplicity of the style combined with the embellishment that adds fun and elegance. The style itself could have made the dress quite plain but the extra touches add just the right amount of wow factor. The shift dress style works for a variety of shapes and sizes including what I call inverted triangles, rectangles and some hourglasses. Basically, it is one of those styles that could work for almost anyone.

The sizes go up to a 16 at this store, but as I mentioned earlier, the sizes tend to be generous in the more unstructured cuts, you may go down in size from what you normally wear.  I’ve had clients in to shop here who would have said they dont shop here because of the size and they did quite well finding styles that worked for them.
