Outfit Ideas For The Easter Break
It’s been a crazy busy few weeks, actually months, here at the Style With Cindy headquarters. Since the Christmas holidays, it feels like we have constantly been on the go – to be honest, we haven’t stopped to catch our breaths!
Between facilitating workshops in Queensland, opening up our brand new personal styling suite in Chadstone The Fashion Capital, attending the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival and last week, the preview runway show of The Stylo: Files at Chadstone’s shopping centre, plus on top of that, planning our next personal shopping and style experience in Vietnam, it’s been go, go, go!
It’s why I really am looking forward to the Easter break. I always think there is a different feel to this time of year. While I love the warmer weather around December, I love the crispness in the air at Easter time. It just feels…fresh! It’s a time of year when I love to add an extra layer of clothing, like a beautiful cashmere wrap or silk scarf, or a cosy knit, to keep the chill at bay while enjoying fish and chips on the beach with a nice glass of wine.
When I think of Easter, I think family time – whether that’s relaxing with my husband and my sons over a home-cooked meal (my husband is a fantastic cook!) or heading off camping for a few days or an evening out with friends for dinner in the city. With the seasonal change in the air, it gives me an opportunity to play around with different looks too.
Black and white is a very popular colour theme across most collections for this season. Classic and elegant, these colours work just as well for a casual, day time look as they do for a smarter evening look.
White broaderie dresses or white trousers with a coordinating striped top, look crisp and chic for a daytime look while unusual cuts to fabrics or bold patterns are striking for evening time wear. Of course, the right statement necklace or earrings with this season’s Mary Jane flats or high caged heels are wonderful ways to complete your outfit.
I couldn’t write about Easter without mentioning what, let’s face it, what we all tend to associate with this time of year…chocolate! You know, I still buy my sons Easter eggs every year and they are grown men! If I didn’t, I know they would miss this tradition and so would I – they’re still my little boys even though they tower over me!
Autumnal tones in chocolate browns, burgundies, burnt orange, tan and rich reds and plums are popular at this time of year and most of us are able to wear these shades quite easily – it’s all in finding the correct tones for your skin. These colours were prevalent in this season’s Autumn | Winter collections across lots of stores.
So, no matter what you get up to this Easter, whether it’s a relaxing time with family and friends, or a jam-packed calendar of nights out with friends, or if you’re idea of Easter-heaven is treating yourself to lots of chocolate eggs and hot-cross buns, have a wonderful and stylish time!

Hi Cindy,
Love the statement brass necklace withe the scoop neckline in the Witchery photo- so flattering on you! also, I like the cutaway black suede booties in the FCUK pic, they add a nice touch of skin detail for an autumn/spring weather.
Thanks as always for the pics, and enjoy your break.
