New season trends arrive and most women find themselves scratching their heads wondering how they can translate this style into looks they can actually wear?
This season we have seen a huge influx of styles including a lot of really bright colours in greens and yellows, with a lot of lilac and white featured also.
Off the shoulder, wide leg pants, culottes and jumpsuits are also featuring heavily with relaxed style linen and khaki front and centre in stores.
Stripes are huge this season, which is great because you can do so much with the visual effect lines create, black and white and fun print can also do the same when placed correctly.
Today on the blog, I am going to share some of the trends that most women can wear easily and look fantastic in.
I love a good stripe for styling clients.
The eye will visually follow the line of a stripe which can lengthen and elongate the leg, and minimise or maximise areas on the body to create balance.
Stripes can be worn in the form of classic black and white or navy and white, but you can also head to stores like Gorman who have a huge range of prints featuring stripes this season.
Jumpsuits are the easiest way to be instantly stylish!
A black jumpsuit is the new sexy ‘little black dress’ and a colourful jumpsuit is a perfect look for a wedding or daytime event.
You can easily dress a jumpsuit up or down with the right accessories, which don’t have to break the bank.
Accessories we are loving this season are from Witchery and Lovisa for a more affordable option.
White is fresh, summery and casual.
Who is scared of wearing white?
Well apart from the fact that as a mum keeping white can be difficult, when you are free of messy little fingers you should give white a go!
When looking for white pants, you just need to make sure you choose the right cut for your body shape, and length that finishes in the exact right spot so as not to shorten your leg.
If you are unsure of your body shape for vertical proportions, book a session with a Style With Cindy stylist.
Black and White
My personal favourite which can ooze elegance and sophistication depending on the style you select.
A monochrome palette is stylish, on trend and timeless… black and white will be in every season.
I love to get creative with gingham and check when wanting to bring in some fun into my signature black and white style.
Certain colours rule each season and this year yellow, green and pink are the stand out trends.
Yellow, in particular, is hard to wear for many, and certainly is a different look… one that will most likely be out of style next year.
If you choose a bright colour, try to choose one that you will be happy to wear again next season… I know I am already sick of yellow and green and they will seem very ‘2018’ next year.
Pink is an excellent choice if it works with your colour palette. Pink is versatile, non-polarising and can work with so many skin tones, ages and styles.
Feminine and romantic, or stylish and modern, the hue you choose can be styled in so many ways.
Fun prints are synonymous with certain stores.
Think Gorman, Mister Zimi, Dangerfield, French Connection anywhere that embraces individuality and fun.
I personally love French Connection for on-trend style, and Gorman has incredible quality pieces that will last season after season and attract a lot of attention and compliments.
If you are looking for a more romantic or floral print, Portmans have a great selection and work fantastic for the office as well as a night out.
I hope you have enjoyed my Summer Style blog, let me know what you are loving this season!
