Why Do We Judge Ourselves and Others?
Why do we judge ourselves and others?
Why do we put ourselves and others down?
We are a community of people who are going about their lives each day, simply doing the best job we can with the tools we have.
Judgement, criticism, putting down others and ourselves has simply become a way of life to many people.
It slips off the tongue so easily and can destroy someone’s self-esteem in a heartbeat!
In this industry, fashion, I know so well that others feed off bringing others down.
In my styling academy, I thrive on teaching students to remove judgement of themselves and others.
I promote empathy and taking a moment to realise we are all doing our best.
A ‘bad outfit’ could just mean a ‘bad day’.
Instead of criticising someone on how they look, stop and think – are they ok? Can I help? Is something not quite right?
We don’t always get things right, we all make mistakes and do things too fast, perhaps without thinking.
We all do it.
We are creatures of habit.
So I am asking you all today to check yourself and break the cycle.
If you find yourself having a negative thought towards yourself or others try this:
Stop, take a deep breath.
Be Kind
Be Sincere
Love Unconditionally
