Jeanswest Launch Beachwear & Jewellery Collection
Lacey and I were recently invited to attend the Spring/Summer launch of Jeanswest’s new clothing and beachwear range entitled Holiday Essentials.
The collection – designed for the months of Spring/Summer 15 – reflect the Australian lifestyle with beachside kaftans, classic swimwear styles and accessories including summer totes and wide brimmed straw hats.
The launch took place on a gloriously sunny morning in Melbourne within the West Beach Bathers Pavilion with a sea view that beckoned – very fitting!
We were professionally greeted by the gorgeous team at Jeanswest and were invited to peruse the incredible range with coffee and muffin in hand.
So my verdict?
I was very impressed with Holidays Essentials and the fascinating story and inspiration behind it’s head designer, Suzi Kyriakidis.
The collection featured beautiful colours, subtle prints and a touch of tribal. There was also extensive attention to detail in the considered embellishments.
The inspiration behind the November collection, which features the teal colours, comes from Santorini, The Greek Islands. On the otherhand, the collection coming out in December which is the pink tones, this was inspired from Morocco.
There was something for every body shape and the kaftans were beautiful enough to transform from poolside to a balmy night out. They were also very generous in size, perhaps to even suit a size 18 and featured draw-strings to bring in that much needed shape at the waist.
Jeanswest has also launched their accessory range whose pieces were all hand made with textured materials and weighted metals that exuded quality. From statement necklaces to delicate bracelets, the range featured lots of gold and turquoise, beaded pieces and playful tassels.
The fabrics used in the clothing vary across georgette, viscose, cheesecloth and jersey – all lightweight and ideal for the warmer months.
In terms of swimwear, Jeanswest have thoughtfully featured “lift” in the bra cups and support through the tummy area in their navy and white stripe piece for ladies who appreciate a touch of control in their clothing.
Jeanswest’s price points are also reasonable considering how truly lovely each piece is. Expect to pay an average of between $49 to $70 for items in the range.
I have decided to purchase a kaftan to wear over my bathers whilst Lacey spotted the perfect gift for her mum.
Feeling inspired and with a gorgeous goodie bag in hand, we left the launch delighted with Jeanswest’s new direction with Holiday Essentials – well done!
I would encourage all of you heading off on beach holidays to pop in for a look. You can currently shop part of the range with the entire collection to reach stores very soon..
So now it’s over to you – have you visited Jeanswest lately and what are your thoughts on the new range?
Interview with Suzi –
CINDY: What is your job role with Jeanswest?
SUZI: I am the product developer and designer for the holiday range
CINDY: Where did you get the inspiration from for these designs?
SUZI: This is a boho inspired collection from exotic destinations like Santorini in the Greek Islands coming out in November and Morocco for December.
CINDY: Who is your main target market at Jeanswest?
SUZI: Our main target is a mum, possible working or with younger kids. We also have the maternity range so we can grow with her.
CINDY: When designing the jeans do you take all body shapes into consideration?
SUZI: Our aim is to “Fit and Flatter”, we take all body shapes into consideration when designing the jeans which will include the wash of denim, coloured stitching, pocket placement and leg lengths. We also have the curve embracer which is great for a pear shape, as well as, the tummy trimmer, buttlifter and the hiphugger for an apple shape.
CINDY: What other factors do you take into consideration?
SUZI: It’s all about the detail and to “fit and flatter”. We use premium details and embellishments to make every look something special.
CINDY: What’s next for the brand?
SUZI: We will be launching a full range of jewellery, as well as, bringing in a show collection which will includes embellished sandals. We are also bringing in a scented candle range which is definitely something different for Jeanswest.
