Winter Style 2018
Winter Style
Yesterday, I was on 3AW discussing the reported trend of baggy clothing for Winter.
It reminded me how confusing translating fashion and trends can be especially when you aren’t feeling 100% comfortable with how to wear these styles.
It can be very exciting to discover new trends but always remember trends come and go and you can check out my last blog on why they don’t necessarily flatter you!
Now onto Winter Style!
This year, the Winter weather seems to be holding out… but the fashion is ready for taking!
There are a few options right now on stocking your winter wardrobe when the sun is still out:
- Purchase the best of the Winter stock now and ensure you will be able to get your size.
- Wait until the sales start and get in very quick!
- Work with our Personal Stylist now to ensure sizes are still in stock and to access our exclusive discounts in selected stores.
Where to start?
Here are a few Winter trends for this season which are very wearable for the everyday woman of all shapes and sizes!
Oversized & Off Shoulder Knits
Off the shoulder is still having a huge moment!
Season after season we are seeing a reincarnation of this breezy style which is great for creating balance if you have a triangle shape.
Not sure about your shape? Book a session with one of our Stylists for an expert body shape analysis!
Structured & Tailored Pants
This Winter, statement pants are essential for your wardrobe.
Pants are very hard to get right if you struggle with a triangle shape, have problem thighs, or are on the shorter side.
Be careful when picking the length of pants and consider the height of your boots when purchasing as they can either elongate or shorten your legs!
Remember our Stylists can assist you with picking the perfect style of pant for your shape and shoe selection.
The Classic Blazer and Trench
Ah, the blazer!
A classic, never out of style and perfect for creating shape and highlighting your waist.
There are many great options available this season, but when selecting your blazer take the time to consider the length and how it affects your proportions.
More of a skirt kind of gal?
A long structured skirt is a great option this season.
One of my favourite purchases this season is this skirt from Cue, while they are sold out, there are many similar styles available in stores such as Country Road.
Trenches are fantastic for creating longline length and slimming a silhouette.
They can also hide our lumps and bumps, and what my clients refer to as ‘saddlebags’ (horrible term) and create an overall streamlined look.
Makeup for Winter
As always with makeup we take our cue from the seasonal hues in stores and in nature!
This season, hair is tied back and off our face meaning our makeup has to be on point.
Our Femme La Vie Makeup range was born when I could not find a natural, mineral makeup with no nasties that worked for my skin type and a range of colours that were realistic for women’s colour groups.

What are your plans for stocking your winter wardrobe?
